The way is actually aesthetic.

When our Interest and Participation levels are balanced about the center (at five out of ten), and we find ourselves able to gaze beyond the familiar, and we can taste the ideal, just as we can taste what side of ripeness blackberries are on. Anyone can pull a blackberry off of a bush and tell which side of ripe it is on, whether it is under, or over ripe.

Ideals, like blackberries, are either moving us toward perfection or falling away from it. An ideal is beautiful as we approach it, and sublime as we leave it behind. Dopamine, the physiological force driving us, is beautiful in anticipation and sublime in retrospect. Both the ideal and the pleasure of dopamine are qualiadelic experiences. This is the aesthetic key to knowing which side of the ideal we are on in our own lives.

It is a matter of perspective. The taste we have, the sense we have, for our particular ideals, is whether we are finding the Way toward them, or we are Falling away from them.

But which ideal to follow?

As our senses become less material-bound, and more attuned to qualia, our pleasures come simply from knowing that we are part of something greater than ourselves.

And what is greater than the human race, the top of the food chain? (Give me a break! Do not subscribe to Planet Qualia if you subscribe to such nonsense).

Seriously now, with our gaze upon ecosystems and all our planet’s beings, we shall find our proper ideal. Ecosystems surround us, bathe us, feed us, and supply all our needs, so we no longer have ceaseless anxiety about chasing matter. It is there for us, in our niche; in fact, it is already part of us.

The beautiful and the sublime lose their relativity; we are all part of cycles of life and death, growth and decay. We no longer need to crave Big Dopamine, we no longer have to become anything, we just are, living in the ideal, and in mere being we find contentment, and even happiness.

Chase qualia, not matter!

There is a way to know which side of any ideal we are on, whether we are moving toward or away from it.
