Part of the landscape is inside of us \u2013 in the mind \u2013 and the other part is outside of us \u2013 noticed by the senses. So where does that inner and outer qualia come from? God? Maybe. Maybe not. It is a conundrum with which philosophers have struggled for thousands of years.<\/p>\n<p>The problems of philosophy (if we may sum up Bertrand Russell\u2019s famous little book in a sentence), revolve around the fact that no line of reasoning can prove the existence of matter. All, <em>apparently<\/em>, is qualia. None-the-less, if you kick a rock it hurts your foot!<\/p>\n<p>Ah, all that qualia must come from ecosystems!
