Slavery is in the landscape, not in the slave.

We are like sparrows eating crumbs on the sidewalk – free to come and go, but, nonetheless, still slaves to our landscapes, chained to our landmarks, and our pathways. Yet all is (generally) provided for – the qualia we notice guides us to the matter we need. Survival depends on following the landmarks and pathways we have inherited, or been taught. We are just like sparrows, born slaves to landscapes. But, the slavery is in the landscape, not in the slave.
