The human landscape, from planned obsolescence to science, from the arts to spirituality, is full of lessons on how to ritual consciously. Alas, the reason we don’t make the most of these lessons is that we are interested in qualia only insofar as it leads us to matter. For instance, the scientific method is a conscious ritual, but it is used, primarily, to increase material wealth. The vast majority of technology does not serve us (in fact, it enslaves us).
The lesson is to consciously ritual with qualia for qualia’s sake, for theory’s sake, for science’ sake, for art’s sake, for contentment’s sake…for ecosystems’ sake!
Take care of ecosystems and they will take care of us.
