Watching time lapse photography of plants climbing trees, it becomes perfectly plausible that even non-living matter forms qualiadelic relationships: mountains rise and fall; water evaporates upward and flows downward; non-organic molecules form bonds with one-another.
Just because we humans are smart enough to figure out the causes of these effects doesn’t mean that molecules and mountains are not conscious of them.
