A lot of people who have suffered greatly in their lives come to the realization that they have to completely change who they are.
They have to become somebody different, somebody new, in order to transcend their discontentment and suffering.
It is necessary to do so, but it all starts by recognizing a difference between open-mindedness and opening the mind.
To be open-minded is not too hard considering we are generally open-mindeed when we feel like life is going well. At those times we can look past our own shortcomings.
When things are not going so well though, we can easily become close-minded and intolerant. We seek to blame and it becomes hard to open the mind back up.
Opening the closed mind back up depends upon realizing that we ourselves are probably to blame for our own misfortunes. This is an important step towards opening the mind up and actually transforming ourselves.
We certainly can blame the human economy for our misfortunes. It is held together by keeping us addicted to Big Dopamine is the next step.
But we have only ourselves to blame if we fail to free ourselves from it.
It is easy to see how the landmarks and pathways of the consumer landscape keep us perpetually fearful of encountering scarcity.
Our leaders play upon this fear and use it to perpetuate wars and conspiracy theories that distract us when we begin to see beyond their landmarks and their pathways, and we begin to discover what it means to open our minds.
The first step, though, is to be open-minded. To recognize that your discontentment is a result of having too much, and that you have only yourself to blame for letting them hook you.
