You can set aside moments throughout the day for conscious ritualing. While brushing your teeth you never know what good thoughts you might have. By consciously setting aside the moment as a ritual, you are making yourself receptive to qualia.

Your qualiantennae come alive, and you react to little, noticeable things. You will have more of those moments, because the body likes dopamine, and dopamine makes to consciously ritual more.

This is, of course, not addictive Big Dopamine about which we are talking, but Little Dopamine. Little Dopamine used to be our default setting, until the addictive economy overwhelmed our needs with desires.

We can return to our original setting with conscious ritualing. Experiment with what you have, with what you do every day.  Acknowledge what health and strength you have, even if you have little. Fill your head with healthy things like moving clouds, fresh breezes, waterfalls, ocean surges, and trees in motion.

Just practice imagining the subtle sensation of Little Dopamine in your brain. That is the feeling of your antennae perking up, sensing finer, “gooder” qualia.

Set aside time to ritual consciously. The commute to work. Let the first customer who walks through the door switch on your qualiantennae. See if you can keep your Interest and Participation levels in sync around a 6 out of 10. Set aside lunch time recognize and be grateful for the qualia that attracts you most subtly. Cook dinner and play with the ingredients using controlled spontaniety. See your kids as greater than the sum of their parts. Acknowledge the landmarks and pathways of a friend.

Each moment is full of potential. Be aware of what you are thinking and feeling, and what comes into your consciousness through your senses – it is all good. The Little Dopamine will turn “noticing” into a habit because it is a good thing.

Watch what happens. Little things, Little Dopamine things, come to you for a reason, because you need them. They come to your rescue. They make you better. You are building a better landscape. Have faith in qualia.
