All beings ritual, and typically, if rituals “work,” they turn into routines, routines turn into traditions, and our traditions, of course, become familiar and comfortable. So it comes to pass that we forget about the qualia and pay attention to the matter.

Matter is measurable, and alas, it has become the standard by which we measure ourselves against others. Qualiadelic ideas, such as laws, righteousness, benevolence, knowledge, and technology are only necessary because we have evolved with a preference for a material world.

It is not so much that our ancestors were more perfect, or that as we got more complex we became more distracted from qualia. It is that qualia tends to lead us toward ideals that will lead us out of a problem, just as an animal whose environment has been ruined follows qualia to search for a new habitat.

We all sense qualia, we just don’t notice it, not any more than we notice the window we are looking through to see outside our house. A qualiadelic world is not beyond us – simply noticing qualia is the short route back to ecosystems – and it is the only way to fix the mess we have made of the planet.
