God is the most qualiadelic idea in the book. If all qualia suggests ideals (the idea of a blackberry is idealistic so that it leads us to seek out the perfectly ripe blackberry) then we seek god – but what god? A manmade, distant though personal god defined by men to reflect men? Come on get real! How about an evolved, sacred essence that surrounds us here on earth at all times, which is the source of everything we need to survive? That would be Ecosystems. Yes, and they come with the bonus that if we only pay attention to them and follow their lead we can find our way out of the mess we have made of our beautiful planet.
