There are two, basic things that we notice in every landscape: landmarks and pathways.

We notice landmarks and they lead us down pathways, and that is about as simple as it gets – except that we have trouble noticing anything else.

As long as our landmarks and pathways work for us, well, fine, but they have a habit of becoming walls.

When things fall apart we need to get off the path, see beyond the landmarks.
