Our relationships, like our economic systems, are material – they are a risky balance of giving and taking, buying and selling, extorting and cheating, where everything has its price. But the strongest, most lasting relationships, are based upon cooperation. Cooperation is qualiadelic. Qualiadelic relationships are not based upon shared matter, but upon shared qualia. When one gives a gift, it is the thought the counts, not the matter. The only payment demanded by a gift is responsibility. The responsibility is not to the giver of gifts, nor to the receive of gifts, but to their relationship.
