Miracles

Miracles don’t have to be big. The cells in our bodies, and the things they accomplish, are miraculous. A fleeting thought is often miraculous — far more often than we realize. Miracles excite surprise and wonder, and consequently, when we are aware of them, they trigger the dopamine survival mechanism (the Dopamine Reward Circuit) in the brain which keeps us looking for more of the same. Little things, if we pause to notice, are often the most miraculous. The reason there are no longer miracles in the world is that the world is focused upon matter, not qualia.
