The sparrow is doing what it loves to do, because its Interest and Participation levels are matched in the middle (Interest level 5/10, Participation level 5/10); it is in sync with its landscape. When we are doing what we love, when our faith in the qualia we notice is at its strongest, then, “the money will follow.” So they say, anyway, and that is why, we are freest when least free — just like a sparrow!

There is a chemical explanation for this, too. We imagine animals as slaves to their instincts, but that is an anthropomorphic mistake. Our human perspective is enslaved to our desires, not our instincts, because we are all addicts. People are slaves to Big Dopamine; sparrows (and all animals) are still sensitive to Little Dopamine. The chase for Big Dopamine is self-destructive, and therefore, we cannot, reasonably, love it. Little Dopamine experiences, on the other hand, are healthy, and so are lovable — in fact, they are love.
