Matter has consciousness of qualia, and it is attracted to it. For this reason, two or more atoms may come together around the same qualia, as oxygen and hydrogen come together around electrons (which actually resemble qualia more than matter), to form a water molecule. In just this way, all the matter of the universe is informed by qualia: the cosmos, the planets, and every earthly landscape with which we are familiar.
Of course, all life on earth, in the same way, has consciousness. Originally, like matter, all life was informed by qualia in the landscape outside of itself, in the outer landscape. The most primitive life forms – amino acids and one-celled organisms – are conscious of light or heat or chemical charges in the landscape, and they endure because of this qualiadelic awareness. The consciousness of most animals is determined by qualia in the outer landscape, to which they react.
Human consciousness, too, is informed by qualia. But our consciousness does not only come from the qualia outside of us; we notice qualia inside of us. The more we understand the qualia which informs our inner consciousness, the more the nature of reality evolves.
So, basically, there is superficial qualia, with which, for the most part, we have evolved, and there is the qualia within, which requires the sixth sense, the mind, to perceive. The mind interprets the qualia from our senses, but not in the same way as the instincts, which merely react. The mind pauses, reflects, plays, experiments, and imagines.
Superficial qualia gives us common sense. The qualia within, that informs the mind, gives us uncommon sense. It takes uncommon sense to change the nature of reality. Common sense, you might say, is traditional. To the degree that consciousness is common, individuals are not very unique; but when an individual thrives on his or her uncommon consciousness, new qualia reveals itself.
New qualia is, after all, the gift of ecosystems. It flows into the mind that pays attention. Since it is a gift we can share it. That is, we can change the consciousness of others. We can now move beyond our (traditional), competitive, exploitative, fearful and addictive human landscapes.
Be conscious. Be qualiadelic. Change the landscape.
