Traditions lose their relevance, just as do scientific paradigms, and they both resist change. Actually, the truth is that everything comes down to ritual – rituals are the fractal of all change.

It’s is necessary to see ritual as a process, not a thing. We enter into the ritual process when we need, or want, change. At the heart of ritual is new qualia that we must notice, then play with or experiment with. If it works, if it is good – if it is a gift – then we do it again

This is how beings adapt, evolve – in a qualiadelic relationship based on ritual. But, after a time the growth levels out and it becomes a symbiotic relationship and the ritual just become routines. Just so, traditions too, stagnate: they work for a while and then they can lose their relevance.

And so we ritual…with conscious attention.
