As a rainbow is highly qualiadelic — it has no real, material existence — so, too, are our thoughts and emotions illusory. Ideally, we can look right into our anger and it will dissipate into nothing. The same is true with other emotions, as well as most of our thoughts. There is a personal reason which drives most thoughts, like for instance, thoughts about love and belonging, but when we look at them closely — when we abstract the thought from the circumstances out of which it has arisen, the thought loses its power over us.
One of the reasons why this is difficult to do is that our emotions and thoughts, like everything else in the modern world, have become Big Dopamine phenomena. We are not satisfied with friendship; we want LOVE!!! Injustice is EVIL and we have a right to the rush of anger. Big Dopamine spikes our emotions and thoughts as if they were solar flares bursting outward from our bodies.
Our thoughts and emotions occur in our bodies and brains, but we need not let our minds be pulled into their gravity and burnt to a crisp. We are separate from our brains and bodies. And our brains and bodies are not the Sun, but the temperate Earth; emotions and thoughts are Little Dopamine experiences, and their essence is more qualiadelic than materialistic.
Just like rainbows, qualiadelic experiences fade; but then some new gift appears and we are qualiadelic once again.
