Obviously, in any single culture there is no perfect equality – equality is an ideal, and over decades and centuries we strive toward it or we fall away from it.
Over lifetimes, however, things do equal out: the life and death and the growth and decay or organisms in ecosystems interconnects us all.
Spiritually, too, we live many lifetimes, and compassion turns us all into equal mothers and children.
